Don't know if that would be this grpoup before they found a more permanent place, or if they were confused, or if there was another group of displaced/abandoned people who found a brief refuge in Burnet. Never had time to research it, but if someone else has, or does, I'd love to have the info for Park Archives. Also - OK if I make a copy of this article and put it on the Archives? (The Zoo's property belonged to the Cinti Parks back then.) Here is more information with excerpts from the Cincinnati Enquirer and Gazette in June of that year-- http://www.nkyviews.com/campbell/text/crees.htm.-- Interestingly there was a Cree child who had died during this visit and was buried at Wesleyan Cemetery in Northside (Cumminsville). The child's name was HOTE- OT- TE- NA- WISH. Although the papers said the child was 1 1/2 years old the time the, cemetery records say 6 months and buried on 6/13/1895. The burial record can be found in this book: Hamilton County, Ohio Burial Records Volume 1 Wesleyan Cemetery 1842-1971, published by, Hamilton County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society and edited by Mary H Remler 1984--page 127

Kathy Dahlnoreply@blogger.com
